In order to obtain a certification as a Technology, Solution or Business Partner, the interested party must fulfill certain requirements.

Technology Partner

In order to obtain a certification as a Technology Partner, the partner must fulfill specific requirements - with respect to API certification (TIM-API, TIM server, GICC, e-Link - not required for JSON API) and homologation of external POS terminals.

API certification

PSPs must have a host-to-host approval from SIX Payment Services’ Mission Management via GICC or e.Link (excluding transactions, which are processed via Lyra, Pay.On, Ingenico, Ogone or Saferpay). The costs for testing and certification are shared between the partner and SIX Payment Services in accordance with the agreement.

Cash register system solution providers must have TIM integrations approval from SIX Payment Servicess integration support. Own expenditures for certification shall be borne by SIX Payment Services and the partner. 

Homologation of external POS terminals

Network operators/PSPs must receive approval from SIX Payment Services’ homologation team for external POS terminals. In collaboration with the partner they implement the MTIP, ADVC process with Visa and Mastercard.

Cost sharing in accordance with the project expenditure is necessary. These shall be calculated subject to the required homologations for the different schemes and test cycles and settled by the partner as part of the project. The homologation fee for the schemes shall be borne by SIX Payment Services.

Solution Partner

In order to obtain a certification as a Solution Partner the partner must fulfill specific requirements with respect to the business plan and sales volumes as well as organisation and expertise.

Business plan and sales volumes

The partner presents an annual business plan which includes the following points:

  • Goals (market share, number of new customers etc.)
  • Resource allocation for payment services
  • Marketing and product focus
  • POS terminal and e-commerce volumes – historic and predicted data
  • Marketing activities

The partners are free in the design and creation of the business plan. However, SIX Payment Services requests that a prior agreement is arranged with the respective partner manager.

Organisation and expertise

The partner employs at least two members of staff who have expertise in the following fields:

  • General card-based payment transactions
  • Card systems (three/four party systems)
  • POS terminals – product features and installation
  • Alternative payment methods and wallets

The partner has a system in place that allows him to provide effective customer support in the relevant market languages (hotline, ticketing system, contact centre etc.).

Business Partner

In order to obtain a certification as a Business Partner the partner must fulfill specific requirements - with respect to the business plan, sales volumes and organisation, expertise and reporting, risk management and compliance and scheme registration with Visa and Mastercard as well as setup costs.

Business plan and sales volumes

The partner presents an annual business plan which includes the following points:

  • Processes towards the market such as go-to-market models for marketing, pre-sales, sales and services
  • Processes towards SIX Payment Services
  • Strategies (focus on technologies, market segmentation, market presence, etc.)
  • Goals (market share, number of new customers, etc.)
  • Customer satisfaction measures
  • Resource allocation for payment services
  • Marketing and product focus
  • Merchant sales volume (MSV) and merchant service commission (MSC) – historical and predicted values
  • Marketing activities

The partners are free in the design and creation of the business plan. However, SIX Payment Services requests that a prior agreement is arranged with the respective partner manager.

 

Risk management and compliance

  • The partner supports SIX Payment Services with the processes for customer identification (Know Your Customer – KYC), anti-money laundering investigations (AML) and implementation of the European AML regulations.
  • The partner will supply all available information and obtain the necessary documentation from the merchant.
  • The acquiring partner will use the stop-and-go lists in order to offer SIX Payment Services acquiring services for the defined merchant categories.
  • The partner must support 3-D Secure MPI methods, if relevant.
  • If the partner processes payments, he must be registered and certified in accordance with:
  • If the partner processes payments, he must have a documented fraud management system in place.
  • If the partner acts as a payment facilitator, special compliance requirements apply.

Organisation and expertise

The partner employs at least two members of staff, who have expertise in the following areas:

  • Card-based payment transactions
  • Alternative payment methods and wallets
  • Frau prevention

The partner has a system in place that allows him to provide effective customer support in the relevant market languages (hotline, ticketing system, contact centre etc.).

 

Reporting

The partner will regularly report on:

  • Number of leads (SME and key accounts)
  • Number of contracts (SME and key accounts)
  • New merchants
  • Adjustments to merchant contracts, address changes, etc.
  • Trends and opportunities to increase per-head sales (factors known to him)

 

Scheme registration

For contract brokers registration as an ISO (Independent Sales Organisation) is required with the schemes. The costs will be borne by the partner. The costs are shared by SIX Payment Services for the initial registration and annual renewal in accordance with the agreement.

 

Back-office system

For acquiring resellers (value added MSP) and payment facilitators it is necessary to set up the back-office system (iPASS). A client is set up for the partner in order for the partner to facilitate the administration of his customers and manage support inquiries on payments.

Cost sharing in accordance with the project expenditure is necessary. These shall be calculated subject to the required functions for the acquired division of responsibility between the partner and SIX Payment Services and settled by the partner as part of the project.
